Educational Excursion For Rising Stars Academy Students

The Rising Stars Academy organised an educational excursion to Cape Coast Castle in Ghana as part of their commitment to holistic development through sports and education. The trip was aimed at educating players about Ghana’s history, heritage, and the importance of resilience, discipline, and unity.

During the visit, over 40 students both from the Football and Basketball departments were guided through the historic castle, where they learned about the transatlantic slave trade, the conditions enslaved Africans endured, and the role Cape Coast Castle played in Ghana’s past. The tour guides explained the significance of the dungeons, the Door of No Return, and how these historical events shaped modern African identity.

The excursion helped the players understand the value of freedom, perseverance, and teamwork—qualities that are also essential in sports. It encouraged reflection, respect for history, and appreciation of the sacrifices made by previous generations.

Overall, the educational excursion to Cape Coast Castle was a meaningful and enriching experience for the Rising Stars Students. It successfully combined learning with personal development, reinforcing the importance of education, history, and character building alongside athletic excellence.
