All of our players are based at the academy on a residential basis, receiving a high-quality education in addition to their sporting development.

Our aim is for students to flourish both academically and in a sporting capacity, providing them with the best possible opportunities to achieve their dreams of a career in the sporting world or successfully engage academically and ultimately in the world of work.

With many of our academy students coming from a background of extreme poverty and with their families often facing barriers to securing their school attendance, we aim to provide each individual with educational opportunities to overcome such issues and achieve their true academic potential. A unique combination of professional teaching qualities, small class sizes and one-to-one tuition, our students are supported on their pathway to success.

Founded upon the belief that sport is a unifying force that can be used to promote social cohesion and personal well-being, one of our core aims is to offer a supportive environment in which our young academy players develop themselves both personally and as role models within the wider community.

This is partly achieved through fostering the direct benefits of sports coaching, with our dedicated training placing a particular emphasis on improved health and emotional well-being and enhanced life skills, including teamwork, leadership, decision-making, communication and confidence.

In addition, we have developed a regular series of extra-curricular sessions on critical personal, social and health issues, with a range of visiting guests engaging in activities focusing on topics such as HIV/AIDS awareness, cultural diversity and gender equality.

Furthermore, through competing in matches across West Africa as well as offering selected players the chance to travel overseas for educational and playing opportunities, these experiences harness an appreciation that is shared across their peers and wider community with a strong emphasis to put back.
