Three physiotherapists join Hearts of Oak medical team
Hearts of Oak have welcomed three physiotherapists from the United Kingdom for a one-month internship program with the club.
The lady and two gentlemen arrived in the country recently and they have been helping the Hearts medical team at training whilst also picking up valuable lessons in Physiotherapy and Sports Science.
Facebook.com/accraheartsofoak spoke with the new guests and here’s what they had to say on their association with one of the best club’s on the continent.
* ERWIN JOSELYN (21, Bristol, England): “I have come to Ghana to improve my physiotherapy skills and to work with the Hearts of Oak football team just to implement all the skills I have learnt through my studies in England and see how I can help the team on the injury side and help with rehabilitation. Accra seems lovely; it’s a bit different to England; the road is lot busier and obviously it’s a lot hotter. But with regards to my time here, I am really enjoying it and I am learning a lot and picking up some skills I can take back to England as well.”
* YVONNE MACDONALDS (22, Edinburgh, Scotland): “I just finished my physiotherapy course and came down here to just keep practicing and improve my skills. There’s quite a lot of difference between here and Scotland but I am enjoying my stay. The players have really been friendly and every member of the team has welcomed us very well into the family. Hopefully, I will take a lot of things back during my time here.”
* JOE MACE (20, Southampton, England): “I am here on the same physiotherapy course to broaden my knowledge and network round the country, experience life in Ghana and in Africa and see how friendly everyone is. And everyone has been really friendly since we arrived and are always welcoming. I have not had a bad word to say since coming to Ghana; I am really enjoying my time here. I know Accra Hearts of Oak is a big team in the country and very famous in Africa so I am very honored to be working with the players and physios and it’s a big thing for me so I am hoping to learn a lot from the club.”
