Welcome to Rising Stars of Africa – our sport development charity registered in Ghana. We would like to introduce you to our newly established School Of Excellence. The School of Excellence will provide education, training and facilities in Ghana coupled with international sporting and educational opportunities to underprivileged children in Ghana. Our vision is to offer coaching, education and financial support to talented young people in Ghana and ultimately to give them the chance to fulfil their sporting potential and to unify their local communities through sport.

The School of Excellence will incorporate a Sport’s Centre unit that will provide children with the individualised support they need to overcome the many problems they face to ensure they achieve their true sporting potential, with an Underprivileged Children’s Centre.

Children with sporting potential will be recruited to our residential Centre from all over Ghana where they will have access to the best training and education available to them in Ghana. Scholarships will be provided for students every year in each of the following sports: football, rugby, boxing, tennis, athletics, golf and basketball. These children will have the potential to achieve world-class amateur or professional status.

Whilst receiving world class coaching and support services, including physiotherapy and sports psychology, the centre will also offer individual support for the children in one to one and class education. A significant number of these children will be street-kids and orphans who in the face of such adversity are struggling to achieve their dream of attending school and gaining meaningful employment.  The School of Excellence will essentially provide children with the individualised support to overcome the many problems they face to ensure that they achieve their true sporting potential and academic achievement.

Building the School of Excellence

We are not solely dedicated to offering sporting opportunities, we are also aspiring to provide academic excellence for all of our students. Ultimately we want to build a school of excellence where disadvantaged young talent will be provided with scholarships to attend and where they will be given the best sporting and educational opportunities in Ghana.

The Ghana Volunteer Project under our Sports arm- Rising Stars of Africa is dedicated to achieving this goal and as such places much emphasis on promoting the charity and fundraising.

Charitable donations and volunteer participation are paramount to making Rising Stars of Africa a success.

We are currently building a temporary facility that will include a six classroom block for underprivileged children in Teshie- a suburb of Accra. These boys are sourced from our football team with the idea of transforming their raw talent into greater future use. Our vision is to have a bigger facility in the near future to pave way for more underprivileged kids to attend the centre for free.

With generosity of spirit and a shared passion for improving the lives of young people in Ghana, Ghana Volunteer Project in partnership with Rising Stars of Africa and its supporters have the potential to make life-changing improvements to countless numbers of underprivileged children and by extension, the communities they live in.
